Inspired by "Question" by Old 97's
It was the first song to be added to the A+K Spotify mix and, arguably, the only song we both willingly said yes to!
She Said Yes, Now You Say Yes to These Travel Requirements
Q: Will you need a passport to join our celebration?
A: Yes! You'll need a valid passport to cross the border into Mexico. Make sure it won't expire on you like a nervous suitor's courage.
Transportation To and From
Q: How can we fly to the celebration?
A: Just as there are many ways to ask an important question, there are two main ways to fly in:
1. San Diego International Airport (SAN)
- Like a well-planned proposal, this option requires some extra steps
- Rent a car, drive to San Ysidro Port of Entry
- Cross the border (don't get cold feet!)
- Follow Highway 1 south
OR
- Fly to San Diego,
- Hop on our shuttle service that will be leaving the 10th in the AM from A&K's house.
- Return Shuttle on the 12th (around noon) from the wedding site back to La Jolla.
NOTE: The shuttle will cross the border and you will not need to disembark at the border (passengers stay on the shuttle). PLEASE RSVP FOR THIS OPTION!
2. Fly to Tijuana International Airport, TIJ (brand new modern airport)
- Grab an Uber to Cuatro Cuatros (approx $75)
- Rent a car and head south following signs to Valle de Guadalupe
Transportation Day Of
A shuttle service will be available for transportation the day of the wedding to bring guests to and from wedding site, Cuatro Cuatros. A shuttle will also be available on the premises for guests who want transportation within the resort.
Crossing Borders (Like Crossing Hearts)
Q: What should we know about the border crossing?
- To Mexico: Quick and easy (like falling in love)
- Back to USA: Requires patience (like waiting for the right moment)
- Pro tip: Get Global Entry or SENTRI (think of it as the engagement ring of border crossing - worth the investment)
Q: What do you need to drive in Mexico?
- Valid driver's license (as valid as our vows)
- Vehicle registration (if bringing your own chariot)
- Mexican auto insurance (because some things need extra protection)
- All necessary documentation (like having the ring in your pocket)
Q: How do I get to the wedding resort?
A: Once you cross the border, take the scenic Mexican Federal Highway 1 to Ensenada (Toll Road that is Very Safe), then follow signs to Valle de Guadalupe. The drive takes about 1 - 1.5 hours from the border. You can pay tolls with either US Dollars or Mexican Pesos; either way, bring cash.
The Perfect Setting
Q: What's the weather like?
- Days: Warm like new love (Mid-70s to mid-80s°F)
- Nights: Cool like nervous butterflies (50s-60s°F)
- Bring layers (because like marriage, it's about being prepared)
More Than Just One Day
Q: What else can we do in the area?
A: Valle de Guadalupe offers:
- Wineries (for toasting to love)
- Farm-to-table restaurants (for romantic dinners)
- Beautiful landscapes (for making memories)
- Cultural attractions (for sharing stories)
Consider staying a while, because like love, this place is worth taking time to explore.
